Hatha Yoga

Ha... the Sun
        Tha
... The Moon

To balance the flow of solar and lunar energy in the human body.
Hatha yoga is the classical form of yoga postures and breath that revitalizes the body physically and mentally. This is a multi-level practice with options for beginners to advanced students.

Meditation

An avenue used to connect with the spiritual nature that exists within each of us. This is a guided class embracing different techniques and methods to assist students on a quest for personal wholeness. Meditation is an ancient practice that studies have linked to biochemical and physical changes in the body such as metabolism, heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, stress reduction and pain management.
Give yourself the gift of this practice...still your mind and be more present and focused.

Iyengar Yoga

Iyengar Yoga focuses on spinal alignment. Through the use of props...blocks, straps, blankets, etc....a student is better equipped to achieve proper alignment. More time is spent on individual poses, allowing students to become better acquainted with specific muscles, bones, & organs. Iyengar Yoga is suitable for all fitness levels.

Restorative Yoga

Restful Yoga for stressful times. When stress becomes chronic, our body's capacity to heal itself is compromised....the antidote to stress is relaxation. Our well-being is enhanced by a healthy spine; restorative yoga is designed to move the spine in all directions in gentle, fully supported poses. Through the use of blankets, bolsters, straps, etc., we allow the body to 'actively' rest.....bringing balance to our body and mind. This practice is suitable for all levels of fitness and recommended for anyone going through a difficult period in their life.

pre-natal & post-natal yoga

**Please note** Pre-registration is required for this class

Our vision is to support and assist women through pre-natal yoga as they go through this extraordinary adventure in their lives. The goal of pre-natal yoga is to help women prepare for active, empowered and natural birth as well as to nurture and love their changing bodies.

We will embrace yoga poses that will create strength and flexibility of the spine, release the lower back pressure, open the hips, strengthen the pelvic floor, build strength in the legs, bring inner balance, centering and harmony. We will also learn pranayama-breathing techniques that are perfectly suited to labour and birth.

Each class ends with guided relaxation that will leave the mother and the baby feel relaxed, empowered and energized.

Pre-natal yoga will help with common aches and pains that may be experienced during pregnancy. It will help to relieve backache, reduce water retention and improve circulation, ease digestive discomforts, improve sleep and increase vitality.

The workshop is suitable to women in all stages of pregnancy and all levels of yoga experience. It is advised that all women contacted their health practitioners before starting the workshop. I'll modify the poses for all 3 trimesters. In 1st trimester we'll explore the poses with little or no props, depending on a mother, 2nd trimester will use straps and blankets, and 3rd trimester lots of blankets and other supports.

Anusara-Inspired Yoga

This practice follows brilliant alignment principals allowing each student to discover the divine and joy within each of us. Every student is encouraged to practice each yoga posture safely…….to discover and respect their body and personal ability, allowing the body to open slowly & mindfully. Feel your heart, body and mind open to the Grace within yourself through this wonderful practice of Anusara-Inspired Yoga. Suitable for all levels.

Kids Yoga:

Children experience many of the same physical benefits adults do from practicing yoga. Yoga strengthens them and helps them become more flexible and coordinated.

Children who practice yoga learn early on to tune into their bodies. Self esteem is bolstered as the children gain control over their bodies and minds, enhances children's imagination and empathy.

Children are asked to strike poses from nature. They might assume the pose of a snake, or a tree, or a dog. Then they are asked to imagine what it would be like to be those life forms. In this way, children learn early on to connect with all the life on the planet and realize that similarities far outweigh differences.

The infectious rhythms make a party out of exercise. The fitness class looks like any other..until...The Latin lyrics and the upbeat tempo start bringing smiles to the classmates. Their hips start to shimmy. Their feet move in rhythm. If their arms moving up and down held drinks, it would feel like a nightclub. But this is the regular evening class of Zumba, a fitness program designed to a soundtrack of Latin dance music. Zumba's motto: "Ditch the workout. Join the party."
